My work at Lencore Acoustics

Lencore is a provider known for its expertise in sound masking solutions, as well as paging and audio systems. Their technology is dedicated to refining speech privacy, increasing comfort, and fostering productivity within diverse acoustical environments. Their impact spans various sectors, from offices and healthcare facilities to government buildings and educational institutions. I joined their engineering team in May of 2022 as an Acoustic Engineering Intern. My main tasks in that role were assembling and modifying test fixtures and procedures, performing tests on various electronic components, systems, and products, and interpreting data through a variety of software such as Ease Focus 3 and REW.

At Lencore, I devised and executed testing methodologies for speakers and systems, creating an in-house mock-anechoic chamber to analyze speaker performance and the impact of materials like drywall and ceiling tiles on sound propagation. Working in an acoustically representative setting, I performed tests using Room EQ Wizard to generate detailed analyses, including frequency response plots, impulse graphs, and real-time frequency analyses. I compiled these findings into comprehensive research reports, providing actionable insights for the engineering team and enriching Lencore's product literature to better inform clients of their systems' capabilities and advantages.
